The Camden-Lugoff Elk Lodge Honoring Our Local Lugoff-Elgin HS Students: Lauren Walker and Michael Robinson |

|
Our two students, Lauren and Michael, along with Marilyn Furniss, Rich Wagner and Jamie Burchick, met with Elgin Mayor Pete James and Chief Harold Brown. After explaining how local government works and the vision of Elgin’s tomorrow, Mayor James signed a Proclamation honoring the Camden-Lugoff Elks support of our Youth Week celebration with support of all Elgin businesses. Afterwards, the Elgin Fire Department Chief Bradley Branham talked about their local services. |

From Elgin, our group went to visit the Lugoff Fire Department, a perennial favorite. There, Lauren and Michael received a tour of the facility, inspecting the various rooms, including the dispatcher, sleeping quarters and exercise rooms. Then came the fun—both donned the fire-fighter’s equipment, manning the hose, learning how adjusting the spray can block the immense heat of the fire, and sat in the trucks. The Lugoff Fire Department is one of the favorites during our Youth Week celebration. The members go out of their way to put on a fun-filled experience for our students. Special thanks go out to Tammy Hinson, Brian Tolbert, John Ferry, and Frank Raymond. |
|
From there, the students were treated to lunch buffet, followed with a visit to the new Sheriff’s Department, where they received a tour of various rooms and activities. |

Thanks to Lauren and Michael for being this year’s Youth Week Students! |
