Camden Lugoff Lodge, No. 2603, of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, supports many of our local charities, including organizations that benefit the youth, the aged and our veterans. The proceeds from this Brewfest event will go to charitable organizations. A list of our charities are:

Alzheimers –Local, state and national

U.S. War Dogs Association – Provides food, treats, vests, and other supplies to military dogs and their handlers deployed to combat zones.

Alston Wilkes home for Veterans. – Located in Columbia, this organization helps homeless veterans through rehab, training, and job placement. Our Elk’s organization supplies and annual dinner for all of the residents, food, supplies, mentoring, helps to identify job opportunities, and other needs of the organization.

Dorn Veteran’s Hospital – We sponsor events for the residents of the long- term care unit. Last year we hosted an ice cream social. Our members also provide transportation to local veterans between home and the hospital.

Sacks of Love- Is a local program to provide take home meals for school age children that otherwise would not get to eat.

Sister Care- A local organization that provides shelter and care for women and children that are victims of spousal abuse.

Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department – Last year we donated money for protective vests and training ammunition. This year we would like to do something similar for the Camden Police Department

Sunfun Camp- Day camp for developmentally disabled ages 6 to 21.

Kershaw County Board of Disabilities– Last year we prepared and served a Christmas Lunch to over 100 disabled citizens and their families.

Mary Ellen Ahner Scholarship- Each year we provide scholarships in $1000 increments to outstanding students from local high schools that intend to pursue a career in teaching.

Elks National Foundation- Each year we donate money to this fund that provides community investment programs, drug awareness and education programs, and supports many programs for our veterans. One such program provides free leather gloves for veterans that are confined to wheel chairs.

Family Connections – This organization provides support to parents of children with disabilities, developmental delays, and chronic illness.

As Elk’s we strive to support our community and their needs. We are a small lodge and funds are limited. With additional fund’s we would increase the number of individuals we assist and hopefully bring a little bit of happiness to their lives.
